I graduated from the University of Mobile with Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.
I have taught for 34 years. I taught Kindergarten for ten years in the Mobile County Public School System at Saraland Elementary. I am beginning my 25th year here at NMCS in the First Grade.
Welcome to the First Grade! I am very excited about the opportunity to teach your child. I believe every child is unique and truly a gift from God. It is my desire to teach your child in a way that will make him/her feel good about coming to school. I want them to learn new things that will help them grow spiritually as well as academically. I want every child to have the best educational experience possible. I want the first grade to be a place where learning is fun. In order for this to happen, I feel that good behavior/discipline is a vital part in the learning process. Therefore, it is important that parents and teachers work together.
I have been married to a wonderful man, Lyle, for 29 years. God has blessed us with three great children -Tiffany, Aimee and Cody; and two sons-in-law - Josh and John. We have also been blessed with three beautiful granddaughters - Aubree, Joleena, & Aubrey and three grandsons - Bentley, Destin & Lincoln. Children and grandchildren are truly a gift from God. I enjoy spending time with my family, crocheting, reading and saltwater fishing. We attend Redemption Church and LOVE working in the nursery ministry when I'm not taking care of my mom.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
