Mr. Reed

Dear Parents:
New beginnings are always filled with such hope and promise!  It was a delight to see you and your children today for Meet the Teacher.  The enthusiasm and energy that filled the school was wonderful.
We look forward to a positive year of working in close partnership with you and your student as we continue to strengthen our academic programs and spiritual formation. We want you to be passionately and eagerly involved in our efforts to make this year the best NMCS has ever had.  One of the best ways to do this is through our PTO.  The partnership NMCS shares with the PTO has benefitted our students tremendously over the past two years.  Two years ago, the PTO raised funds to improve the playground for our preschool classes.  Last year, the PTO raised funds to purchase classroom technology for grades K5 through 8th grade.  Any parents who truly want to impact the education and enjoyment of our students in this school are welcomed in this wonderful organization.
Much preparation has gone into ensuring success for this year.  The building has been continuously improved to provide a clean, safe and welcoming home-away-from-home for our students.  Teachers have worked on lesson plans, curriculum and technology integration this summer to better prepare for the year ahead. Teachers have prayed and prepared their best, and now we are looking forward to a fantastic school year with our returning and new students.
The family handbook provides important information about our school's philosophy, procedures, policies, curriculum, and schedules. It is a guide to the way we operate as a school. Also included in the handbook are behavioral expectations and guidelines for students, often the most referred to pages in the book. Please use this tool as a reference throughout the school year. Each student will receive one from their teacher, and you may find a digital copy of the handbook in the Navigation Menu on the left side of our website.
Consistent and clear communication with parents is essential to student success at NMCS. The handbook is only the start. Our weekly bulletin, the Crusader Corner, informs parents of special events, sports, menus from which to order lunch and many other useful pieces of information. The bulletin is sent via students to parents weekly and is also available online.
Parents may also communicate with the school and individual staff through e-mail or on the telephone. We will start sending home weekly progress reports for each grade from K5 through 8th Grades in September.  We have an Open House September 6th which will continue to give us chances for open communication.  These are great opportunities to become more involved in your child’s education. We encourage you to volunteer in the school as well, through the PTO mentioned above or as a Room Mom or Dad.
We are excited about everything God is doing (and will do) in and through North Mobile Christian School.  We are praying for your students and for you that this year, they are blessed and challenged at NMCS to become the person God is growing them into.

God bless you, and thank you for choosing to be part of the Crusader family!

                            In Christ,
